Tune EbAbDbGbBbEb
compiled by polymath22
i have a bookcase full of guitar tabalature books. some of the more useful bits of information in these books are the performance notes, where they tell you about tuning, FX used, etc.
i got tired of trying to remember which songs were tuned which way, so i made a bunch of playlists on my itunes account, sorting songs by how the guitars are tuned. i sent a suggestion to apple to include this as a standard feature, so we don't have to enter this stuff manually, but so far i haven't seen apple move on it.
I keep my fender stratocaster tuned down 1/2 step, my ibanez jem tuned standard, and my gibson SG tuned drop d. So, depending on my mood, or which songs i want to play, or which guitar i want to play, i can change quickly and effortlessly.
i thought this idea was pretty cool, and wanted to share it with others, but how do i do that with my itunes? i'm not sure, but i do know that i can find these same songs that are in my itunes collection on youtube, where i can add them to a tuned playlist, where myself or others can use it.
you probably noticed that there are only a few artists represented on this playlist. that is because it takes a lot of time to see whats in my music library, what books i have, looking at the notes, etc.
i do have several other playlists on my itunes for all sorts of non-standard tunings. as i get the time and ambition, i will make youtube playlists, which will be available for anyone to copy for themselves and edit to their own tastes.
